Parallel cinema is the term given to certain kinds of films made in India that are different from conventional and mainstream cinema. Parallel cinema cannot be considered a film movement as a whole, although it consists of various smaller movements in itself. The film and filmmakers associated with this often have very little in common with each other ideologically or stylistically. Parallel cinema is known for its serious content and symbolic elements with a keen eye on the sociopolitical climax
Rules and Regulations
The event is an individual event. There is only one round in the event, where participants will be provided with the scene and genre they have to build upon.Preparatory time will be given accordingly.The duration allotted to each participant to put forth their alternate reality will be 3 minutes.The participants can communicate and speak in English or Tamil, based on their comfort.The judging criteria will be based on spontaneity, creativity, the plot and its smoothness.Plagiarism is strictly prohibited and if identified, will result in the disqualification of the participant.Team members are asked to behave with utmost decorum as Vulgarity of any kind will lead to disqualification of the team.The judge’s decision will be final and absolute.The registration will be a First Come First Serve process.Certificate of merit and participation will be awarded.Event Incharge
